Canvas: Green
Leather: Beige
Dimension: Small 91 x 152 cm 3 x 5''
Culture lives in every brushstroke.
Stories live in every colour.
Created by Nuretu Mola in Bazate Village, this original canvas wall hanging celebrates the artistic spirit of the Ari community.
Painted by hand using white, black and natural orange pigments, every composition is inspired by the colours, patterns and traditions that shape everyday life within the Ari culture.
Rather than documenting tradition, this artwork offers a contemporary artistic interpretation of a living culture, created to honor the people whose stories continue to inspire.
Please note: The orange pigment is traditionally made by members of the Ari community using natural materials. Small colour variations or markings are part of its authentic character.

About the Ari Community
The Ari people are one of the largest communities in southern Ethiopia, where traditions continue to shape everyday life.
Creativity is woven into their culture. Homes are decorated with hand-painted murals made from natural pigments, pottery is crafted using techniques passed down through generations, and body art expresses identity, beauty and belonging. Jewellery, woven garments and handcrafted objects all reflect a deep connection to family, community and the land.
For the Ari, art is not separate from daily life, it is part of who they are.
This rich cultural heritage became the inspiration for the Ari Collection. Through contemporary artistic interpretation, we honor the beauty of their traditions and the people who continue to keep them alive.
Every tradition tells a story.
Every story deserves to be honored.
